WHO Management Effectiveness Program in EMR States (MEP)
In collaboration with MOH in Egypt, Syria, Iran, and Yemen
Objectives
- To improve health systems management
- To improve and develop the abilities of health leaders and teams
- To implement an Action Research to assess and improve management capacity of the national health systems and improve the health of the population
Tasks
- Mapping and SWOT Analysis of the national health system at Central Level, and selected sites
- Baseline Assessment of current organizational management capacity and individual managerial skills in selected sites
- Curriculum design & Curriculum development of 10 training modules
- Developing and Implementing TOT (in Egypt & Syria)
- Initiating an organizational development of the program in Egypt
- Supporting the pilot program in Syria, Yemen, and Iran
- Long-term technical assistance to the MOHP-Egypt
- Monitoring and Post-Evaluation
- Documentation, Reporting, and Networking on the level of EMRO states.
- Phase I: Three sites: two health districts & Central Blood Bank: the program covered 2 health districts all through the central level to PHC unit level and the National Blood Bank directorate & Central blood bank. (370 participants)
- Phase II: Central Laboratory of MOHP and its Peripherals & Abbasia Chest Hospital (880 Participants)
