Developing Quality Management Systems in MOH in United Arab Emirates..

Objectives:

  1. To review the organisational structure of the Department of Hospitals (DOH)
  2. To develop the mission, aim, objectives, and roles of DOH.
  3. To develop job descriptions for the key positions of the DOH.
  4. To identify the DOH competencies needed to assist the department accomplish the assigned roles.
  5. To develop a feasible and effective manual for quality management system for the DOH to cope with the Presidential Decree issued for all ministries to be awarded by ISO 9001:2000 certificate before June 2002.
  6. To review/update DOH annual plan.
  7. To organise a workshop for key officials of MOH and districts’ health officials to present the assignment deliverables, reach consensus on the design of manual and plan, and to agree on next steps and methods for replication of the manual in various levels of MOH and districts.


Deliverables:

  1. The new organization of DOH
  2. Development of DOH Policy & Procedures Manual.
  3. Development of Quality Management System Manual for ISO 9001:2000
  4. Development of the Quick Start Guide for implementing QM system
