Effective Meetings

A meeting can be defined as a gathering of three or more people sharing common objectives, where communication (verbal and/or Written) is the primary means of achieving those objectives.

Meetings are an important tool of management. A leader has to acquire the skills of preparing and conducting meetings effectively. Difficult situations can occur in meetings and can lead to ineffective meetings or time wasting. Learning how to handle these situations, how to improve meetings and manage meeting-time is an art of the manager. In addition, every one of us is a potential meeting participant, and has to learn how to be productive.

A meeting is effective when it achieves its objectives in a minimum amount of time to the satisfaction of the participants.
