Infection Control System
Both patients and staff run the risk of contracting infection while in the hospital. Nosocomial infections can lead to overuse of antibiotics, longer stays, increased costs, and staff absenteeism. Although some hospital areas are more at risk than others. There should be universal precautions to control infection and additional specific precautions for high–risk areas. Infection control is essential to achieving high quality care.
